The 2002 vintage is a cuvée of three vineyards.
The Speer Ranch Vineyard, dedicated exclusively to Pinot Noir, is located near the Russian River in Forestville. Scot Covington, proprietor of Speer Ranch, states "The Speer Ranch Vineyard combines Gold Ridge soils and several Pinot Noir clones to add delicacy to the TR Elliott wine.
Saralee's Vineyard is renown for its cool climate, rich valley soil and rolling hills. Clone 115 fruit from Saralee's "French Flat" Block, a mix of Huichica and Pajaro gravelly loam soils, add soft textures and balance to the wine.
Goldridge Vineyard lies along the rolling hills that stretch from Forestville to Sebastopol in the heart of the Cote d'Or of New World Pinot Noir: Goldridge Vineyard fruit (entirely clone 777) contributes the brilliant garnet color and the blackberry and dark cherry flavors.
